Be Wary Of Online Prescription Drugs
A lot of companies are now selling prescription drugs online, although the government is working hard to crack down on these illegal companies, which don't generally follow appropriate medical or legal procedure when dispensing drugs which are potentially dangerous in the wrong hands. However, there are some legitimate online pharmacies where you can get your prescriptions filled. It's just important to be able to sort those that are the real deal than those which are not.
The online prescription drug industry is a fast growing business today, and is quickly replacing traditional live pharmacies. Today there are literally dozens of different legitimate companies that will take your prescription orders online, and send you the drugs by mail with little or no hassle. And drugs in the mail are a good thing!
There are of course a lot of clear advantages in getting online prescription drugs over going to your local pharmacy. First of all, you don’t have to wait in those long and slow moving lines. Nor do you have to deal with the people at your pharmacy. I’ve bounced around from a number of different pharmacies over the years, and one common denominator to all of them seems to be incompetence. Sure, the pharmacists are knowledgeable and sometimes even helpful, but they’re never around, or if they are they’re far too busy to deal with customers.
Even if you happen to have a good pharmacy nearby, it's still nice to be able to click a few buttons and have your refills sent to you by mail. It’s just one less chore you have to deal with when you get online prescription drugs. If you’ve already seen your doctor and gotten a prescription, getting online prescription drugs is a piece of cake.
However there are companies which will approve you for certain drugs just by taking a brief online survey to be reviewed by a medical staff member. The biggest issue here is that it's very easy to lie online. Lots of people take drugs such as presription weight loss medication, either in an attempt to lose weight which they don't need to lose (people who aren't clinically obese or even overweight, including people with eating disorders) or who choose to take such drugs for their amphetamine-like effect. It's not hard to say you're 40 pounds overweight online, is it?
Fortunately, this sort of practice is being cracked down on, and now legitimate online pharmacies require a copy of your prescription before they'll issue any drugs online. This keeps you - and them - safe.
Finally, online prescription drugs are generally cheaper than those in stores. Some of the online distributors of prescription drugs are the same companies that produce them, so you are effectively cutting out the middle man by ordering them directly. The savings aren’t huge, but they are significant and every bit helps when it’s a drug you need to take everyday for a long time.
All in all I definitely recommend online prescription drugs over going to a pharmacy. However, I don’t think ordering drugs online should replace going to your doctor; I think it's important to get a good diagnosis first, and a recommendation for which drugs to try before ordering anything.
